Job Description
The Role

My client, a well-established regional law firm with a strong presence across the North East is seeking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Dispute Resolution team on a permanent, full-time basis. The team advises both businesses and private individuals on a broad range of civil litigation matters, with particular emphasis on land and property disputes, tenancy issues, contentious probate and contract claims. The successful hire will manage their own caseload, supervise and delegate to junior colleagues, and provide litigation support to other departments across multiple offices. There is also a clear expectation to contribute to cross-office collaboration and the ongoing growth of the disputes practice.

The Successful Candidate

Applications are invited from solicitors with a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience and a strong background in general civil litigation. Candidates should be confident handling matters autonomously while also supporting and mentoring others within the team. The firm is looking for an individual who is commercially minded, proactive and motivated, with the interpersonal skills to build enduring client relationships and develop networks across the region. Strong IT proficiency is required, alongside a genuine interest in contributing to business development initiatives and shaping strategy in conjunction with colleagues in other practice areas.

Benefits

The firm offers a competitive salary and a supportive, flexible working environment within a collaborative regional platform. The benefits package includes a pension scheme, private healthcare, life assurance and a firmwide bonus scheme, together with participation in an electric car scheme. Employees benefit from a competitive annual leave entitlement, an additional day's leave for their birthday, and office closure over the Christmas period. Ongoing training and career development are actively encouraged, complemented by regular staff social events and occasional additional rewards.
