Software Test Analyst, Mid-level - Wallingford, Oxford - PermanentNicholas Howard are delighted to be recruiting for a new and exciting role as a Software Test Analyst.
Due to internal promotions, we are looking for two Software Test Analysts to work on the development of our clients innovative software products for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors to improve the treatment of mental health conditions.
We have an excellent opportunity for these Software Test Analysts to be part of a growing multi- functional team to manage the ongoing development, deployment, maintenance and support of this and other products in the clients pipeline.
As a software tester, you will be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. You will conduct manual testing to ensure the software meets the specified requirements, that any documentation issues or software bugs are identified, documented, and dealt with as per the clients processes.
The primary responsibilities of the Software Test Analyst role will be working as part of a team and supporting a Senior Test Analyst/IT Test Manager:
- The creation and maintenance of requirement traceability matrices, test cases/scripts, test data documents in the master repository.
- The updating of document trackers and CSV
- Performing initial reviews of your own documents prior to peer
- Supporting the Senior Test Analyst and Test Manager in:
- Preparation and scheduling of software
- Performing informal and formal test
- Reporting errors when identified; including the completion of the Exception Log Index document and completed detailed Test Exception Reports (TERs).
- Reviewing the formal testing executed by other members of the
- Providing both written and verbal updates of
- Involved in the sign off process of documents in the master repository and executed/reviewed testing.
Secondary responsibilities of the Software Test Analyst role could include:
- Working on smaller packages of work by
- Performing Impact Assessments (IA) and providing accurate estimates of those packages to the Senior Test Analyst/IT Test Manager.
- Creation of User Acceptance Plans (UATPs) for review by a Senior Test Analyst and sign off by the IT Test Manager.
- Setting up, performing the test execution, providing regular updates on progress (summary reports end of each day & verbal updates in team meetings).
- Creation of User Acceptance Test Reports (UATRs) for review by a Senior Test Analyst and sign off by the IT Test Manager.
Providing support and guidance to junior members of the team, supporting the IT Test team in the delivery of commercial studies, academic studies, tasks/questionnaires and internal R&D packages.
Skills and Expertise:
- NHS, healthcare sector, pharmaceutical or experience of another regulated environment
- Graduate with Computer Science or equivalent degree and/or a higher degree
- Industry recognised software testing qualification
- Experience of structured manual software testing
- Has conducted system testing, regression testing
- Has exposure to disaster recovery (DR) testing (desirable)
- Has excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
- Has written and maintained requirement traceability matrices (desirable)
- Has written detailed test plan and test report documents (desirable)
- Has written detailed well-structured test cases/scripts (i.e., UI/UX, functional & regression), detailed test data documents from complex user requirement documents
- Exposure to clinical trial software, primary or secondary care solutions (desirable)
- Exposure to API tools (desirable)
- Exposure in the use of test management tools (desirable) as the implementation of a Test Management tool is on the roadmap with a planned implementation later this year.
- Exposure in the use of test automation tools (desirable) as not in the companies immediate plans but is on the roadmap over the next 2
- Experience of testing web applications and testing on different
- Experience in working with third party software
- Has excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
