SOFTWARE METRICS OFFICER - AMSTERDAM - 12 MONTHS CONTRACT

Job-description

The Software Metrics Officer is responsible for designing, delivering, and optimizing reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights across software engineering projects-, programs- and services in scope of AMS. This role ensures accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor team- and/or project performance, trends, compliance, technology obsolescence risk and cost optimization. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, this position drives data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement in utilization and software engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting and Analytics Development:

• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into life cycle stages, utilization, costs, and compliance.
• Build custom analytics and reporting solutions to track asset health, performance, and life cycle status across projects, programs, and services.
• Ensure consistent reporting formats and standards for both traditional and agile WoW to align with organizational goals.

Metrics and KPIs Implementation:

• Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including metrics like cost efficiency, compliance rates, life cycle milestones, and utilization.
• Analyze trends in development and maintenance to identify risks, opportunities, and inefficiencies.
• Create predictive models to forecast and estimate needs and inform life cycle planning strategies.

Data Integrity and Systems Optimization:

• Oversee data collection, validation, and integrity across supporting systems and tools (eg, Jira, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, CAST).
• Work with our AMS teams to integrate data from multiple sources and ensure a unified reporting environment.
• Optimize (pipeline) tools to improve reporting capabilities and automate repetitive reporting tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

• HBO degree in Software Engineering
• Experience in software engineering execution, reporting and analytics roles, with a focus on metrics
• Experience in Function Point Analysis

Certifications

• Agile/Scrum foundation (PSM1 or similar)
• DevOps Fundamental (DASA or similar)
• ITIL Foundation Certification
• PrinceII foundation
• IPFUG Certified Function Point specialist (CFPS)

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Jira and/or Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools.
• Experience with predictive analytics and life cycle modelling is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
