Job Description

*Senior Software Engineer - AWS-Contract role-Germany*

For one of our key clients in Germany, RED is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the further development of a cloud-native consumer self-service platform.

The project focuses on the implementation and optimisation of modern AWS-based architectures, including Back End services, Front End web forms, API integrations, and technical infrastructure using TypeScript and AWS CDK.

The project is initially for 6 months and remote with some occasional presence within Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop cloud-native applications on AWS
  • Build Back End services using TypeScript
  • Develop Front End web applications and forms using React
  • Work with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CDK, CloudFormation, EventBridge, SNS and SQS
  • Support the development of serverless and microservices-based architectures
  • Integrate APIs with external case/ticketing systems
  • Ensure code quality, scalability, performance, testing and security
  • Support CI/CD processes using Git and GitHub Actions
  • Contribute to monitoring, observability and vulnerability management
  • Provide technical consulting within the development team

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Full-Stack Developer
  • Very good hands-on experience with AWS serverless services
  • Good understanding of distributed systems, microservices and serverless architecture
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git and GitHub Actions
  • Knowledge of cloud security, testing and performance optimisation
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Very good German and English language skills
