Job Description

Social Worker Adults Services Newport City Council Pay rate to be confirmed Newport City Council is seeking 5 Qualified Social Workers to join their Adult Services team, supporting the Neighbourhood Community Teams in tackling referral waiting lists. These long-term contracts run until March 2026 and involve working with residents aged 17 to 106 across the Newport area. The role offers flexible hybrid working, with just one day per week required on-site in line with your team's schedule. Due to the need to visit clients including those in hospitals across the Gwent area, access to a car is essential. Full and part time applications will be considered. Pay rate for this position TBC. To apply for this role, you will need to hold -

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
