The RoleThe Senior Supervisor will play a key leadership role within the Day Service, supporting both the people who use the service and the staff team delivering day to day supports. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high quality, person centred service delivery while providing guidance, supervision, and operational leadership to frontline staff.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of Social Care and Support Workers within the Day Service.
- Ensure the delivery of high quality, person centred supports in line with individual support plans and organisational values.
- Promote the rights, independence, dignity, and inclusion of the people supported.
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff through regular supervision and performance management processes.
- Manage team rotas and staffing resources effectively to meet service requirements.
- Coordinate and chair team meetings, ensuring effective communication and information sharing.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of person centred plans, risk assessments, and care plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, policies, and best practice standards.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Foster positive relationships with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.
- Degree level qualification in Social Care, Social Studies, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification recognised in Ireland).
- Minimum of one year's recent experience supporting individuals with complex support needs within a Social Care setting.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team within a care or support environment.
- Strong understanding of current legislation, regulations, and best practice within the Social Care sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of autism and person centred approaches to support.
- Experience managing staff rotas and coordinating service delivery.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound decision making skills.
- Full manual driving licence.
- Full permission to work in Ireland.
- Experience working within disability or autism specific services.
- Experience leading service improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to disability services.
