Smart Metering Operation Centre Support

The System Operations team is a key function in the Smart Metering Operations Centre and is responsible for the reliable day-to-day operation of ESB Networks Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems, ensuring smart metering services are maintained in line with ESB's business objectives and delivered to agreed availability and performance levels.
The System Operations Support role is part of the System Operations team and will support and execute day-to-day system operations activities. These will include executing standard operational tasks, monitoring systems and services, incident logging and management, root cause analysis and preparing reports against KPIs and service levels.
Key Responsibilities- Develop technical and business expertise in ESB Networks AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), supported by business experts and external delivery partners, encompassing: smart meters, head end systems, meter data management systems and ancillary & support systems.
- Support in the monitoring of systems in order to identify & handle service exceptions.
- Utilise Data Analytics to gather, analyse and interpret data.
- Raise and update service management tickets for incidents, problems, changes and tasks and bring to resolution using best practice service management methodologies.
- Attend Operational meetings with business partners, stakeholders and service providers.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of operational business processes and controls required to operate smart metering data services.
- Carry out user acceptance testing of solutions as required.
- Support the development and maintenance of technical and business process documentation and processes guides.
- Provide ongoing support and assistance in the implementation of meter upgrades.
- The ability to work collaboratively and solve problems in a team environment
- Experience of IT or telecommunication systems/environments
- Experience in Data Analytics tools
- A willingness to learn new skills
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Evidence of ability to analyse, identify and resolve issues
- 2 years' experience of working with IT or telecommunication systems
- Knowledge of electricity meters and/or metering systems and/or electricity retail market processes
- Experience in Power BI Data Analytics tools
- A good understanding of metering business processes
- Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience

Salary€41,000 to €48,000 per annum
