Job Description
Sixth Form Pastoral and Academic Manager

We are seeking a committed Sixth Form Pastoral & Academic Manager to support our students through the critical journey of Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will work closely with students to remove barriers to learning and provide targeted guidance on independent study, well being, and pastoral development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Mentoring: Guide students on time management, study habits, and revision techniques.
  • Pastoral Support: Build professional relationships with students experiencing difficulties that may impact learning or well being.
  • Attendance and Conduct: Monitor attendance and punctuality, working with families to improve engagement.
  • Intervention: Act as a key adult for identified students, maintaining accurate records of mentoring conversations and outcomes.
  • Safeguarding: Promote the welfare of all students, remaining vigilant to signs of risk.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • A good standard of education, including GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational, pastoral, or support role.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and professional boundaries.
  • The ability to work calmly and effectively with students facing challenges.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the school's Christian ethos.

Contract and Hours

WSCC Grade 7 Point 14 Plus Crawley Weighting. Full time equivalent £29 540. Actual salary: approx. £10 490. Part time - 2 days, 15 hours a week (0.2 FTE, term time only). As this is a settled job share arrangement, there is currently no capacity for these hours to increase.
