Job Description

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Mechanical Site Supervisor in the Southwest Water Region, based at Knapp Mill Bournemouth.

You will report directly to the Lead Site Supervisor, and your role will be to supervise and control all mechanical site activities efficiently, ensuring they meet the specifications and are completed within the contract timeframe, without compromising health and safety. You will also be responsible for delivering a quality end product, ensuring a quality installation with all Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) completed as the work progresses.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners, and visitors;
  • Ensuring all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded, reviewed upon receipt, and are the latest versions;
  • Checking that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out;
  • Reviewing and commenting on Method Statements and Work Instructions as required by the Project Execution Plan;
  • Supervising work to ensure it is carried out in accordance with Method Statements and Work Instructions;
  • Recording the progress of the works on record drawings or other suitable means as required;
  • Recording all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agreeing on actions with the person in charge of the works.

Knowledge/Experience: Several years of experience working in the Energy sector. Understanding of pipework fabrication, welding, and erection. Recognizes quality welding. Ability to punch and snag pipelines in accordance with Isometric, GA, and P&ID drawings.

Education/Qualifications: HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or a good apprenticeship in pipework and welding, along with relevant experience. Certifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aider are required.
