About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead and deliver HR support across our UK operations. This is a hands-on generalist role where you will act as the key HR contact for managers and employees, providing expert guidance on employee relations, employment law, recruitment, payroll support, people development, and organisational change.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will help create a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture while supporting business growth and operational excellence across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR partner for managers and employees
  • Manage a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance, capability, probation, and family leave.
  • Coach and support managers on employment law, HR policies, and best practice people management.
  • Lead recruitment activities from vacancy approval through to onboarding.
  • Support organisational change, workforce planning, restructures, and consultation processes.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with UK employment legislation and GDPR requirements.
  • Maintain HR systems, employee records, and reporting processes.
  • Oversee payroll administration and provide payroll support where required.
  • Produce and analyse HR metrics including absence, turnover, recruitment, and workforce trends.
  • Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Support and develop HR and payroll team members where applicable.

About You

You'll be a confident HR professional with strong employee relations experience and a practical approach to supporting business leaders and employees alike.

Essential Requirements

CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience)

Associate CIPD membership or working towards

Minimum four years' HR generalist experience

Previous management or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice

Experience managing complex ER cases independently

Exposure to recruitment, onboarding, payroll support and employee lifecycle processes

Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, medical products, or other regulated environments
  • Multi-site HR experience
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems such as UKG or Sage
  • Experience supporting organisational change projects and workforce planning
