Salary: Up to £30,000 (depending on experience) Contract: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week) Location: Primarily Dan Y Coed School & Home, Swansea Region Start Date: September 2026
About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and proactive Site Caretaker to join our Swansea region, supporting Dan Y Coed School & Home and Ty Trafle School. This is a newly created role as part of our Estates & Maintenance restructure, designed to strengthen local maintenance support and ensure our sites remain safe, compliant, and welcoming environments for the children, young people, and staff who rely on them.

What You'll Be DoingAs our Site Caretaker, you will be the on site go to person for all day to day maintenance and estate presentation needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out day to day maintenance, minor repairs, and decoration tasks
- Completing routine statutory checks and supporting site compliance
- Maintaining grounds and external areas to a high standard
- Coordinating and overseeing contractors on site
- Supporting site managers with health & safety requirements
- Responding quickly to reactive maintenance issues to improve first time fix rates
- Helping ensure our schools and homes remain safe, compliant, and well maintained
This role is essential in reducing reliance on mobile maintenance teams, improving response times, and supporting the wider strategy to create efficient, geographically aligned maintenance hubs.
About YouWe're looking for someone who is:
- Practical, hands on, and confident in general maintenance tasks
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently
- Safety conscious with a strong eye for detail
- Comfortable working in busy, specialist education and care environments
- A good communicator who can work well with staff, contractors, and managers
Experience in a similar caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role is desirable, but we welcome applications from anyone with the right skills and attitude.
