Site Agent - National Grid / Substation
Location: Derbyshire
Contract: Freelance
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Sector: Energy / Utilities
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major energy infrastructure framework team in Derbyshire.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working on National Grid projects and electrical substations, with a proven track record of managing site activities safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day site activities and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, engineers and suppliers.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in line with the approved programme and project specifications.
- Monitor site progress and report against programme, productivity and key milestones.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant National Grid standards, procedures and site requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Conduct and support site briefings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings.
- Monitor and manage site resources, materials, plant and labour.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Site Manager, engineers and client representatives.
- Identify and elevate risks, issues, delays and technical concerns.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries, progress reports and relevant project documentation.
- Support commissioning, testing and handover activities where required.
- Proven experience as a Site Agent / Site Manager within the energy, utilities, infrastructure or construction sector.
- Previous National Grid experience is essential.
- Electrical substation experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of working within live electrical infrastructure environments.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant site-based qualifications and industry certifications.
