We collaborate with the group's specialist units to provide an integrated, multidisciplinary service. VolkerStevin has a fantastic opportunity for a Site Agent to join our Environment Agency Framework. This position will initially be based on projects on the Isle of Wight.
As the Site Agent you will be responsible for the delivery of the construction phase of an assigned project or section on a large scheme, provide direction to the site team to ensure successful delivery, and nurture and maintain good client relationships.
Responsibilities- Accountable for the programme performance of the project across all stages.
- Accountable for the commercial performance (including change control) of the project across all stages.
- Ensure accurate completion of the Monthly Project Review Dashboards and associated reporting.
- Manage all risks and opportunities of the project.
- Oversee SHEQ performance of the project.
- Oversee procurement and supply chain performance.
- Organise enabling works and site mobilisation including site set-up, with support from the site team.
- Ensure HSEQ pre-start meeting is held.
- Ensure the Site Management Plan is prepared, maintained and reviewed throughout the construction phase.
- Develop an initial Temporary Works Schedule and include it within the Construction Programme; progress any initial designs to support start on site.
- Input to civils procurement enquiries (scope, programme, management provision).
- Produce Monthly Progress Reports.
- Maintain accurate records to manage the change process and variations.
- Prepare Monthly Client Progress Reports and attend Client meetings.
- Monitor resource requirements and ensure monthly Project Review Dashboards are completed.
- Maintain robust commercial forecasts, risk/opportunity registers and Contract Review Action Logs.
- Manage risks & opportunities, change control, client project issues and feed lessons learned to the Contracts Manager.
- Manage and support the production of a fully resourced programme with clearly defined design, procurement and construction phases, a critical path and milestones.
- Ensure the commercial team is involved in the plan and requirements and establish clear delivery responsibilities.
- Attend collaborative planning and programme review meetings as appropriate.
- Monitor progress and update the programme by organising regular project team update meetings and addressing key dates, critical path and areas of concern.
- Discuss revisions with the Client team and provide regular updates to the Contracts Manager.
- Ensure design deliverables are incorporated into the overall delivery programme and that a Procurement Schedule is included in the programme.
- Technical qualification (e.g., Degree in civil engineering or HND).
- Proven technical organisational skills.
- Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of safety, quality and environmental issues.
- Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and safe systems of work.
- Experience in civil engineering.
