Job Description

About Us

Support North Northants is a VCSE-led community wellbeing service. Our motto is simple: we don't give up on people. We bring together voluntary, statutory and private sector partners to ensure vulnerable people get the right support, first time - and only have to tell their story once.

The Role

Leading our busy Single Point of Access (SPA) team, you'll play a key role in transforming how people access support. This is a fast-paced role requiring timely decisions, referral allocation and day-to-day leadership of SPA Officers. Working closely with the Team Leader, you'll oversee the operation of the VCSE-led Community Front Door.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and coordinating day-to-day operation of the Single Point of Access
  • Carrying out person-centred, holistic conversations by phone or in person
  • Developing outcomes-focused support plans and providing practical support
  • Allocating cases and prioritising urgent or high-risk referrals
  • Monitoring demand and capacity, escalating concerns as needed
  • Acting as first point of contact for complex, urgent or sensitive referrals
  • Identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns
  • Providing line management, supervision and support to SPA Officers
About You
  • Several years' experience in a casework-style role, ideally with line management (or ready for your first step into managing others)
  • Experience triaging referrals, assessing need and allocating workloads
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make timely decisions
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries
  • Experience building partnerships across NHS, local authorities and voluntary organisations
  • Strong organisational skills and confidence providing guidance and constructive challenge
  • Committed to EDI and trauma-informed practice
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
