Shop Manager (Mere Green)

Retail store manager salary £26,789 - £31,385 - Fixed term contract ending 1st February 2027. Full time 37.5 hours per week. Location: Mere Green. Reports to: Area Manager. Closing date: 26th July :55.

Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UK. Cancer Research UK does not offer visa sponsorship.

What will I be doing?

• Guide, inspire and engage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention and development.
• Take ownership of the commercial running of the store: display and merchandising, stock management, shop standards, layout, sales and income.
• Lead by example, providing excellent customer and supporter service and maximising profit through effective cost control.
• Build relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Organise and run creative fundraising events to achieve targets.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies.

What skills are you looking for?

• Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team.
• Comfort working within targets and motivating others to achieve them.
• Ability to multi task in a lively environment.
• Working knowledge of excellent customer service.
• Commercial awareness and knowledge of high street fashion retail.
• Adaptability in changing situations, including effective independent work.
• Awareness of the price, value and worth of items.
• Ideally, experience of retail management.
