Shop Manager
Location: 5 Out Northgate, Bury Saint Edmunds IP33 1JQ
Hours: 37.5 per week (weekends on rota)
Salary: £27,199.09 per annum plus reward and benefit scheme
We are a charity retail organisation, and each sale supports essential medical, practical and emotional support services for people approaching the end of life.
Responsibilities- Drive business, push sales and achieve targets
- Lead a team to deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers
- Work with the local community to generate sufficient donated stock
- Recruit, train & retain a volunteer team, acting as their leader and guide
- Maintain high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, ensuring health and safety is a priority
- Manage effective stock processes to keep the shop well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock
- Act as brand ambassador for the organisation, supporting in store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives
- Operate the Epos system for effective stock management
- Customer Service experience
- People management experience (reviews / 1:1 / volunteer recruitment / team meetings)
- Experience achieving KPIs and targets
- Strong IT skills (admin, email, instant messaging, video calls)
- Organisational skills
- Experience of lone working
- High street retail or charity retail managerial experience
- Health and Safety knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent
- Background in high street retail, leisure or hospitality
- Experience with merchandising / stock rotation
- 27 days holiday, rising to 33 with length of service, plus bank holidays (pro rated for part time)
