About Your New Job

As the Shop Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customers are well taken care of and managing a team of 25 sales assistants. This customer-facing role requires someone who loves dealing with the general public, including a lot of agri/locals. You will be responsible for overseeing 7 departments within the shop and ensuring smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service
    • Ensure customers are taken care of and receive excellent service.
    • Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
  2. Team Management
    • Manage and support a team of 25 sales assistants.
    • Ensure staff are well looked after and motivated.
  3. Operational Management
    • Oversee the daily operations of the shop.
    • Work closely with the inventory manager and on-site sales person.
  4. Sales and Inventory
    • Manage sales targets and inventory levels.
    • Deal with faults and issues, ideally from an electronics retail background (e.g., Currys).

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
  • Open 5 Sundays a year (4 hours on Sunday).
  • Work Saturdays with a day off in lieu, as Saturday is the busiest day.
What Skills You Need
  1. Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally from an electronics retail background.
  2. Strong understanding of provincial towns and well-rooted in the region.
  3. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  4. Strong collaboration skills to work with inventory manager and on-site sales person.
  5. Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
