Shop Manager - Sue Ryder Charity shop

30 hours per week over 7 days
£12.76 per hour

Sue Ryder is one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops, helping to fund 2.7 million hours of expert medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support every year for people in hospices, homes and the community.

Responsibilities
  • Drive business, push sales and achieve targets as Shop Manager.
  • Lead a large team of volunteers to deliver great customer service.
  • Work with the local community to generate donated stock.
  • Recruit, train and retain volunteers, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping; prioritise health and safety.
  • Manage stock processes, ensuring the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, supporting in store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
  • Operate the Epos system effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Commercial awareness to deliver sales and meet deadlines.
  • Proven team leadership skills, managing a large volunteer team.
  • Strong communication, engagement and positive can do attitude.
  • Good understanding of financial and IT administration.
  • High street retail or charity retail managerial experience.
  • Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Organisational skills and experience with KPI & target achievement.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (or equivalent).
  • Experience with Epos operation.
