Average earnings of £45,822 per year; pay rate £22.03 per hour. 4 days on and 3 off with one weekend in 3. 40 hours per week. Typical shifts 5am-3pm and 3pm-1am (includes weekends).

Role Overview

We're looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Technician/Mechanic to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Oldham. Whether you're from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards.
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment including laptop.
  • Complete the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit changes and engine repairs and overhauls.
  • Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs.
  • Support apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience.
  • Work safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • Hands on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles.
  • Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level.
  • A safety first attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable).
