Job Description

MWH Treatment are looking to strengthen our SHEQ team with a Regional SHEQ Lead based at Peterboroughwith hybrid working available. At MWH Treatment we believe that people matter.

You will report directly to the Regional Head of SHEQ and your role will cover Managing the regional SHEQ team.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Understanding our approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance.
  • Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
  • Facilitating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls, which will help reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture at MWH.
  • Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
  • Improve and maintain SHEQ Management Systems.
  • Identify and ensure compliance with legislation and our management system requirements.
  • Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Group SHEQ Management Systems.
  • Working with our clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
  • Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
  • Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
  • Trending and analysis of key performance data.
  • Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.
Technical Competencies:
  1. Expert knowledge of UK health & safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and HSE guidance
  2. Advanced experience with SHEQ management systems (e.g. ISO/OHSAS 45001) and audit/assurance processes
  3. Strong data analysis capability, including trend identification and performance reporting

Essential:
  • Extensive experience in the Construction sector
  • Ability to travel to all sites in region
  • Experience of large and complex projects £100m+
  • Expert knowledge of current and pending HSE Directives for health and safety
  • Expert knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
  • Expert knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)Detailed knowledge of good practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of OHSAS 45001 (or similar management systems)Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH diploma or better.
  • Membership of recognise H&S Institution to an appropriate level for role.
  • Construction-related health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction.
Desirable:
  • Strong experience in the water sector.
  • Current full driving licence.
  • Detailed knowledge of Process Safety systems.
  • Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
  • Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
  • Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practise.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communicator who's comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escape issues or concerns.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CSCS card.
  • Charted membership of IOSH
