Sessional Therapist - Children and Young People
Description Priory Hospital Hayes Grove are looking for a motivated sessional therapist to support the service in the delivery of outpatient individual therapy to children and young people with a range of mental health issues. Hours for this sessional role are flexible and will be scheduled according to the centre's requirements. While specific hours may vary depending on demand, we aim to provide clarity as service needs become clearer. This approach ensures the centre can respond effectively to changing demands.

We can provide world class residential treatment for a range of mental health conditions, including treatment for depression, as well as drug and alcohol addiction treatment. We also provide outpatient treatment for young people as well as private CAMHS assessments options and private autism assessments for adults.
What you'll be doing You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant therapy qualification (minimum Level 5 Diploma) and at least three-years post-qualification experience of working in a similar setting with children and young people. The role will involve the provision of therapy to outpatients who require therapeutic intervention, as well as the facilitation of assessments to signpost children and young people and their parents to the most suitable type of treatment. A good knowledge of CBT, risk assessments, and risk management is essential.
The successful candidate should hold full registration and accreditation with the BACP, BABCP, or UKCP.
Due to the requirement to work with children and young people and demand for in-person therapy, ideally we would be looking for the successful candidate to offer appointment times after the school day or during evenings/at weekends at site.

- Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking initial assessments to establish the scope, level and nature of the individual client's therapeutic needs.
- Leads and facilitates group and/or individual therapy sessions, ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the clients, and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the clients' therapy plan.
- Manages, monitors and reviews an assigned caseload, ensuring delivery within the agreed timescales.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date clinical records, case file notes and computerised information, and other associated documentation; providing and presenting progress reports to case conference meetings on a regular basis. Liaise with professional and clinical colleagues, as part of the MDT. Also, assist with the analysis and reporting of statistical data and information for research and audit purposes. Innovation
