This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a team accountable for forecasting over £500m of parts demand every year. The successful candidate will carry out the parts planning, forecasting and inventory management activities required to support a wide range of customer, overhaul, repair and distribution networks. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Used Material and Supply Chain teams, to understand part policies and usage, develop new approaches and make recommendations to improve financial performance and demand accuracy, whilst maintaining an operational focus on emerging risks to MRO overhaul activities. You will work across multi-functional teams, obtaining and challenging information to determine root causes, making decisions through risk-based analysis and ensuring cost-effective corrective solutions are put in place. You will take ownership of investigations and actions through to conclusion, working with teams including Engineering, Engine Clearance, Repair Services and Supply Chains in the UK and overseas.

What you will be doing:
  • Evaluate SIOP demand and supply plans to identify customer or financial risk and manage the resolution of any issues.
  • Work with customers to maintain forecasts for all in-service requirements, ensuring variances to forecast are investigated and demand accuracy and inventory performance are improved.
  • Plan, manage, report and drive inventory by analysing trends and producing recommendations to improve and manage inventory and stock turn objectives.
  • Liaise with various disciplines across the Project Team to develop an accurate understanding of the Fleet Operational Plan and other parts usage drivers, including campaign and cost management activity.
  • Lead and support the development of active used material management processes and policies in support of customer MRO activities.
  • Identify and evaluate causes of variability, the impact of policy changes, financial considerations and risk mitigation strategies affecting demand accuracy.
  • Apply through-life policies to generate gross asset/component forecasts and stock requirements for new, used and repair supply chains.
  • Maintain an appropriate understanding of the current performance of new parts and repair supply chains to enable early recommendations to manage risks.
  • Support product change governance, including attendance at PCB, PTM and Repair Executive Reviews.
  • Support process improvement through the Community of Practice.
Position Qualifications:
  • Strong data analysis and decision-making skills.
  • IT proficiency, including a good working knowledge of SAP MRP/Sales & Distribution and Excel.
  • Understanding of inventory principles, planning and management.
  • Understanding of forecasting and demand management principles.
  • Programme management experience in support of the development and execution of strategies and new concepts.
  • Experience of MRO/used material supply chains, including Reduce to Produce (RTP).
  • Experience of Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
  • Programme management skills and experience in developing and defining new processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to interface confidently with a wide range of disciplines and act as a Rolls-Royce Planning & Control advocate with internal and external customers.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Have, or be working towards, professional APICS membership.
  • Awareness of Services, including overhaul or repair activities.
