SEPA Sales & Strategy Consultant - Remote Contract

Location: UK (Remote)
Contract Length: 3 months initially
Rate: £500 -£700 a day outside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Sales & Strategy Consultant with deep knowledge of European payment systems (SEPA, SCT, SDD, and Instant Payments) to help drive adoption among banks and financial institutions.
This individual will play a key role in advising C-level decision-makers on the strategic and commercial advantages of SEPA, while also designing go-to-market approaches and closing high-value consulting or technology engagements.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the subject-matter expert (SME) for SEPA and European payments modernization.

Develop and deliver strategic sales pitches, presentations, and proposals that clearly articulate the commercial and operational benefits of SEPA participation.

Engage with banks, PSPs, and payment technology providers to promote SEPA solutions, compliance, and value creation.

Conduct market analysis to identify potential clients, key decision-makers, and SEPA adoption opportunities.

Collaborate with internal product and regulatory teams to ensure alignment between SEPA strategy and client goals.

Lead stakeholder workshops to help clients understand SEPA frameworks (SCT, SDD, Instant SEPA) and related technologies (ISO 20022, PSD2, Open Banking).

Support deal structuring, RFP responses, and partnership agreements.

Represent the organization at industry events and conferences to build visibility and authority in the payments space.
Required Experience & Skills

Proven background in sales, strategy or consulting within banking, fintech or payments.

Strong understanding of SEPA, ISO 20022, cross-border euro payments, and related regulatory frameworks.

Experience selling to or advising financial institutions - ideally with an established network across European banks or PSPs.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with ability to translate complex payment concepts into compelling business value.

Experience designing go-to-market strategies and leading commercial negotiations.
