SEO & GEO Business Director

Role Overview

SEO & GEO Business Director - leading a team of 10+ strategy specialists across London and Leeds. The role oversees day to day running of the SEO Strategy and content team, line manages 2+ SEO Strategy ADs, and ensures consistent, high quality delivery across locations. You will collaborate with the Head of SEO&GEO to develop a coherent product, review and enhance ways of working, oversee client strategies, QA processes and playbooks, and feed into commercial performance and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head of SEO&GEO to establish and lead on the implementation of a future facing approach to SEO and GEO, translating a compelling new business proposition into a coherent best practice framework for the team.
• Own communications across four ADs to enhance ways of working and processes, ensuring a consistent approach to SEO delivery across all parts of the team and breaking down silos (Strategy, tech, DPR, PPC&data).
• Manage client profitability - monitor scopes and burn rates, and proactively communicate issues to the SEO team, CS/CPT and the Head of SEO&GEO.
• Ensure the SEO team delivers against an innovative, future facing strategic framework with consistent roadmaps that drive delivery improvement.
• Be the point of escalation for resolving business priorities such as under delivery, SLAs and commercial objectives, and maintain quality of output across teams.
• Lead on the construction of new client scopes in partnership with the Head of SEO&GEO.
• Champion the use of Brand Insights AI with clients and the wider team.
• Feed into resourcing requirements, maximizing capacity across locations while balancing resource costs within target parameters.
• Support new business activities and, where appropriate, ensure new business opportunities are delivered to drive growth.
• Assist in developing proprietary product solutions to drive efficiencies or generate diversified income streams.
• Identify and convert upsell/cross sell opportunities with ADs and CS/CPT across the Network.
• Ensure all SEO functions meet client expectations; act as a point of escalation for Management and Client teams to resolve and improve delivery.
• Keep the industry aware of our capabilities through ongoing case study, thought leadership and award development, both internally and externally.
• Promote a Network culture, enabling employees to connect with the agency brand they work for, whether Havas Market, Ledger Bennett, etc.
• Manage the Ledger Bennett SEO Pod, ensuring high quality work through efficient resource management and fostering a collaborative B2B search team.
• Lead training for the SEO team to build a best in class offering at the forefront of industry evolution.
• Co lead core team elements such as meetings, socials, and communications so that the team receives clear visibility into operations and strategy.
• Drive recruitment priorities with Talent partners, including offshore resourcing.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading large teams within an agency environment.
• Proven track record of growing revenue across clients and success with new-client acquisition.
• Organizational excellence across SLAs, best practices, process and team management.
• Highly organized, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple workstreams.
• Highly numerate with functional expertise in BI technology.
• Demonstrable experience building high performing teams.
• Ability to motivate and lead a large team.
