Join our UK Process Automation Delivery Engineering Team in Coventry or Warrington and take a leading role in delivering advanced automation, SCADA and digital solutions. You'll drive technical delivery across AVEVA technologies - including PI System, System Platform and OMI - helping customers modernise and digitise their operations.
Working across the full project lifecycle, you'll support software modernisation, contribute to sales where needed, and shape UX/UI-focused digital solutions. As a Senior/Lead Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor others, and keep stakeholders aligned to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Full compliance with Schneider Electric QA, HSE, cybersecurity, project delivery processes, and statutory regulations.
- Responsible for the technical delivery of digital projects, including design and specification of system requirements, configuration and programming, testing, installation and commissioning.
- Ongoing support for Schneider Electric/AVEVA and third-party solutions; ensures modernisation and digitisation best practices while maintaining up-to-date application knowledge.
- Responsible for reviewing engineering outputs, managing structured testing with internal/external parties, and preparing/approving system documentation including specifications, test scripts, and support manuals.
- Ensures delivery of technical solutions to time, cost and quality targets, identifies risks and opportunities with commercial implications, and maintains clear communication with Project and Customer Delivery Managers.
- Mentors junior engineers and supports service teams to ensure effective technical delivery and timely resolution of customer issues.
- Supports bid teams with technical input, delivery estimates and planning, and represents engineering in customer sales meetings where required.
- Strong hands on experience with AVEVA technologies and a high level understanding of core digitisation packages, including modernisation and related knowledge capture activities leading to solution design and customer design reviews.
- Proven experience across SCADA, telemetry, computer networking and software engineering, ideally including Geo SCADA and/or EcoStruxure Automation Expert.
- Experience working in project environments (lead or supporting role), covering full project lifecycle, meeting cost/quality/time targets, and working on customer sites in the UK and overseas.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid cloud/on-premise deployments, along with a desirable understanding of control-system-level Cyber Security.
- Experience working in at least two relevant sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Cyber Security, Food & Beverage, CNI or Renewable Energy.
- Ability to explain best practices and system capabilities to customers, including leading UX/UI and digitisation knowledge capture sessions and translating findings into solution designs.
- Experience with digital communications, industrial networks and modern integration protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, REST APIs).
- Competent user of common operating systems and standard office software tools.
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to identify and report project risks and commercial opportunities.
- Qualified to a recognised qualification in engineering discipline e.g., HNC, HND or Degree.
