Job Description
Overview

Say hello to Hackney! This hugely popular clinic in the heart of East London is looking for a senior vet to jump in and make this practice their own. Our Hackney practice is one of our busiest in the group, and we now work closely with our consult and minor ops clinic in Highbury to support them with their surgical cases. This busy and diverse "mini hub" has recently invested in new ultrasound facilities to help support its expansive and varied caseload. The senior vet will be used to a fast-paced environment and will be a keen leader with ample opportunity to develop their own skills further. You will be involved in the daily caseload of consultations and surgeries, while providing senior support to your team.

The practice features two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area, separate cat and dog wards and a well utilised lab area. We continue to invest in clinical equipment to ensure we have the best equipment for patient care and have further exciting investment plans for our Hackney practice, so please do not hesitate to express what would be on your wish list.

You will be working alongside two vets, RVNs, students and trainee nurses. The team thrives on their unique dynamic for laughter and pulling together on challenging days.

As senior vet, you will work closely with your senior RVN to ensure the day-to-day running of the practice is maintained to a high standard, with accountabilities ranging from diary management to clinical governance and team engagement. Hackney is supported by Wanstead 24-hour Veterinary Hospital, so you have the advantage of referring emergency cases within a short travelling distance for continuity of care. You will also be fully supported by a dedicated regional manager and an experienced regional head vet for clinical advice or concerns.

Location wise, the practice is conveniently located near London Fields Overground station, providing easy connections across North and East London.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily consultations and surgeries within a fast-paced, diverse caseload
  • Lead and support the veterinary and nursing team; ensure high standards of clinical governance and team engagement
  • Diary management and coordination with the wider network of hospitals for referrals and continuity of care
  • Collaborate with the senior RVN and support staff to maintain efficient practice operations
  • Contribute to ongoing development and equipment planning for the Hackney practice
Qualifications/Experience

The senior vet salary band is £64,000 to £85,000 (FTE based on 40 hours) depending on experience and room for growth within the role.

The benefits you will receive include:

  • 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Generous relocation assistance (where applicable)
  • CPD budget every year plus up to 5 days' paid CPD leave (pro rata)
