Job Description

Senior Test Automation Engineer

£400-450 per day - Outside IR35

Initial 12 Month Contract

Fully Remote(Must be UK Based)

One of our exclusive Consultancy partners urgently requires the services of an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer on a contract basis for initially 12 months.

We are seeking a Tester to join our clients team to help deliver the migration of legacy applications on JBoss EAP7 to JBoss EAP8, including:

  • Update existing regression test packs to align with current company processes
  • Contribute to a test strategy/plan with traceability for functional testing
  • Create an automated test pipeline using Jenkins
  • Contribute to a test data management solution
  • Conduct accessibility testing
  • Execute a full regression test suite in a system test environment
  • Coordinate with the businesses teams for performance testing
  • Perform end-to-end service validation
  • Test across multiple environments to verify consistency
  • Document and raise any environment-specific issues

Skills & Experience:

We are looking for a Tester with experience writing Automated Web Application and Rest/Soap API test frameworks using Ruby and Cucumber.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of:

  • Page Object Model
  • Capybara
  • Selenium
  • Net HTTP/HTTParty
  • Savon
  • SQL (DB2/PostgreSQL)
  • Jenkins
  • BDD (Behaviour Driven Development)

Key responsibilities:

  • Support migration of applications from JBoss EAP7 to JBoss EAP8
  • Creating and executing manual test scripts as needed
  • Writing automated web application and REST/SOAP API tests in Ruby and Cucumber
  • Document and raise any environment-specific issues
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement,sprint planning, and retrospectives

  • Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with strategic goals

Key outputs:

  • Document test results and create analysis reports
  • Writing new or updating existing automated regression test packs to align with current company processes
  • Create an automated test pipeline using Jenkins

Nice to have:

  • Experience migrating legacy systems
  • Experience with JBoss applications
  • Kubernetes/Docker
  • Zephyr Scale
  • Jira
