Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Warton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £47,683+ (dependent on skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

Responsible for the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of mechanical, fluid and electrical Flight Systems (including Fuel, Crew Escape, Life Support, Aircrew Equipment, Electrical Power Generation, and Environment Control, amongst others)

Supporting planned design changes to the Typhoon EPGS and its constituent equipment as well as supporting changes in equipment/systems requiring electrical power which may impact on the performance of the system

Design, development and qualification of the changes, with consideration for aircraft safety due to the nature of modern electronic based systems

Engaging with suppliers and the customer and supporting management of in-service issues

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience

Experience within a systems engineering environment

Experience in the roles of design, developing and qualifying engineering products, particularly if relating to the Typhoon aircraft and/or relating to electrical power generation and distribution

Desirable

Problem solving skills, including the ability to effectively research system design data

Competent at using standard Microsoft Office IT tools

The Flight Systems Electrical Systems team:

As a part of the Flight Systems Electrical Systems team, your focus will be on the Electrical Power Generation System supporting the delivery of design modifications to equipment, the systems and interfacing systems.

You will have an opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and technical expertise in the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of the EPGS systems. The focus is expected to be on Typhoon aircraft but may involve work on Tornado and Hawk aircraft. The role is a good opportunity to develop and consolidate core systems engineering principles, with exposure to different aspects of the engineering lifecycle and engagement with different interfacing disciplines, suppliers and Customers.
