Purpose of Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Supervisor to join our Facilities team working across a PFI healthcare contract covering St Helens and Whiston Hospitals.
Job Description
This is a critical role overseeing the delivery of high-quality lifecycle and reactive maintenance works, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards across multiple healthcare sites.
Responsibilities
- Daily supervision of on-site contractors, ensuring high standards of work in line with healthcare regulations.
- Oversee lifecycle works including planning, execution, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
- Liaise effectively with wards, clinical departments, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct condition-based assessments and support compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Coordinate third-party works and manage permit systems.
- Ensure reactive lifecycle works are followed up based on reports from facilities operations, service reports, and PPM outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, and FM operations teams to validate project scope and ensure alignment with New Hospital standards.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Proven experience in a healthcare environment, with a strong understanding of associated standards and compliance requirements.
- Solid background in mechanical and/or electrical building services, with hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party contractors and control work permits effectively.
- Strong knowledge of H&S protocols within a live healthcare setting.
- Experience in delivering snag-free project completions and accurate commissioning.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- HNC/HND or equivalent in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services discipline.
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification or equivalent Health & Safety training.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within Facilities or Estates Management.
