An established engineering consultancy based in Limerick, Ireland's third largest city, is urgently seeking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Structural Engineers who enjoy working in a client facing environment and are passionate about delivering high quality engineering solutions across a diverse range of projects. Candidates should be professional, personable, and down to earth, with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving. Successful candidates will initially commence employment remotely while their Critical Skills Work Permit Visa is being processed, after which they will relocate permanently to Limerick.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage structural engineering design teams on a wide variety of projects in Ireland and internationally.
- Deliver high quality structural engineering designs for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed use developments.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, specifications, tender documentation, and construction drawings.
- Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Attend design meetings and actively contribute to project delivery and technical solutions.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with ISO 9001 quality procedures.
- Maintain a strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Higher Diploma or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years' Structural Engineering experience, with applications welcomed from candidates with 5-20 years' experience, depending on qualifications, technical ability, personality, and overall fit.
- Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable.
- Professional registration with a recognised engineering body is advantageous.
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of building structures across sectors such as residential, hospitality, commercial, healthcare, and industrial developments.
- Strong design and construction experience in structural engineering projects.
- Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; candidates must be confident and articulate in client facing environments.
- Overseas project experience would be highly advantageous.
- Experience on projects within the UAE, Dubai, Oman, Kuwait, or Saudi Arabia (KSA) would be a significant advantage.
- Proven commitment to CPD.
- Must be energetic, enthusiastic, adaptable, and take pride in producing high quality work.
