Job overviewSenior Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This post is suitable for an ST6+ level obstetrics and gynaecology doctor who would like to further their skills in a specialist area in pre term birth prevention and management, ambulatory gynaecology or menopause.
The role involves contributing to 50% of resident out of hours duties, within the working week, with no weekend working.
Responsibilities- Deliver clinical sessions with consultant oversight.
- Participate in senior registrar call rota covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Work within a timetable that can be tailored to specialist interest, with dedicated time for the chosen speciality subject.
- Engage in out of hours rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, as per NHS terms and conditions.
- Function flexibly across all Trust locations to meet service demands.
- Support the Advanced Training Skills Modules (SITMs) and CESR pathway.
- GMC licence to practice.
- MRCOG membership.
- Compliance with RCOG CPD and e portfolio.
- UK professional registration (as required by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and Disclosure and Barring Service).
- Ability to work as senior registrar ST6+ level.
- Broad spectrum of obstetrics and gynaecology experience within the NHS.
- Ability to manage own time and continuing professional development.
- Evidence of audit projects and involvement in national audits.
- Evidence of service development and research methodology understanding.
- Experience of small and large group teaching.
- Publication in medical journals.
- Effective communication with patients and staff.
- Ability to function successfully under pressure.
