Job overview

Senior Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This post is suitable for an ST6+ level obstetrics and gynaecology doctor who would like to further their skills in a specialist area in pre term birth prevention and management, ambulatory gynaecology or menopause.

The role involves contributing to 50% of resident out of hours duties, within the working week, with no weekend working.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical sessions with consultant oversight.
• Participate in senior registrar call rota covering Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
• Work within a timetable that can be tailored to specialist interest, with dedicated time for the chosen speciality subject.
• Engage in out of hours rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays, as per NHS terms and conditions.
• Function flexibly across all Trust locations to meet service demands.
• Support the Advanced Training Skills Modules (SITMs) and CESR pathway.

Qualifications

• GMC licence to practice.
• MRCOG membership.
• Compliance with RCOG CPD and e portfolio.
• UK professional registration (as required by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and Disclosure and Barring Service).

Skills & Experience

• Ability to work as senior registrar ST6+ level.
• Broad spectrum of obstetrics and gynaecology experience within the NHS.
• Ability to manage own time and continuing professional development.
• Evidence of audit projects and involvement in national audits.
• Evidence of service development and research methodology understanding.
• Experience of small and large group teaching.
• Publication in medical journals.
• Effective communication with patients and staff.
• Ability to function successfully under pressure.
