Overview

PURPOSE & IMPACT: The role is responsible for driving improvements in functional performance through the identification and implementation of continuous improvement and best-in-class practices across the Procurement function and Source-to-Pay processes. The role uses external insight to identify best practice and develop key enablers - organisational capability and ways of working - that enhance procurement operations, promote supplier excellence, and ensure alignment with organisational goals for efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. The role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to embed efficient and effective ways of working within the function.

We need a strategic thinker who is both focused on external trends and has extensive knowledge of the full range of procurement tools, techniques and accountabilities. Highly effective interpersonal skills, excellent negotiation, strong communication and influencing skills to all organisational levels, are required to be successful in this role. A self-motivated, results focused leader that can collaborate to drive a flawless transformation in the procurement agenda and achieve best in class value delivery.

Responsibilities

DELIVERS EFFICIENCIES THROUGH EFFECTIVE SOURCE-TO-PAY PROCESSES

  • Sets the roadmap and strategic direction for the Source-to-Pay process, in partnership with Finance, and executes the strategy
  • Provides input to define the key design principles for the Source-to-Pay process model
  • Drives the execution of standardisation, automation, process excellence and continuous improvements
  • Sets targets and measures for process performance and ensures process performance meets critical business requirements
  • Drives leading best practice and a culture of continuous improvement

PROCUREMENT SOURCE-TO-PAY GLOBAL PROCESS OWNER (GPO)

  • Develop to Expert Level knowledge of the Source-to-Pay process - becomes the "go to" person within Nomad Procurement
  • Accountable for the effectiveness of Source-to-Pay end-to-end Procurement processes and for achieving desired KPIs and related business outcomes
  • Own and execute the Procurement Source-to-Pay Optimisation plan
  • Ensures optimal use and adaptation of ERP / enabling technologies within Procurement and with Suppliers

DRIVES IMPROVEMENT THROUGH CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Prioritises and reviews process improvement opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the sub processes within an end-to-end business process and presents any major changes (eg. ERP customisation/ exceptional funding) to the Design Authority for approval
  • Liaises with other functions to identify any potential opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end business process
  • Work with Finance and Internal Audit to ensure appropriate Controls are defined, designed and documented around the To Be process, ensure they meet Sarbanes-Oxley standards, and that these controls are also Standardised, Simplified and Automated as far as possible
  • Externally focussed, exploit new external best practice process development opportunities into Nomad
  • Coordinates and manages local SMEs during Project/Change stages: Testing, training & knowledge transfer, implementation/cutover
  • Works closely with data team to ensure processes and their master data requirements are integrated, ensuring that data changes support all process requirements of shared data
Qualifications
  • Results Oriented - comfortable setting and delivering against bold, stretch targets
  • BA/BSc in Finance, Business, Economics degree, Master preferred
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and working across the Source-to-Pay process; experience with SAP Ariba highly desirable
  • Strong Project Management, performance management and change management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills; ability to create extensive cross-functional network
  • Ability and experience in working internationally, across multiple business units
  • Ability and experience of working and navigating competing agendas
  • Proven experience of developing best practice and ways of working
  • Depth of different aspects of Procurement such as sourcing, category management, preferably within Food & Beverage industry
