Role Overview

Surrey Heath Borough Council is looking to recruit a Senior Solicitor or Legal Executive to join the Legal Services team. The role is suitable for a commercial property solicitor or Legal Executive with over 4 years PQE.

Over the last nine years, the Council has acquired a commercial property investment portfolio of significant financial and community value in order to increase income to help maintain services and to further its regeneration plans for the borough. The Council owns a range of properties including a shopping centre, various industrial estates, business parks and office buildings as well as its operational buildings and other land.

Key Responsibilities
  • Progress property transactions, working collaboratively with the Council's property team.
  • Provide legal advice on landlord and tenant matters related to the retail property portfolio.
  • Advise on other types of commercial property matters, proposed development sites and other Council matters as appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Commercial property solicitor or Legal Executive.
  • Minimum 4 years PQE.
  • Experience in private practice or local government legal service is welcomed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with cross functional teams.
