Recently, our Platform Horizontal underwent a major transformation from solely "managing the cloud" to becoming the largest horizontal function within the company. The team takes a holistic approach, creating systems and tools that developers can use to deliver applications seamlessly and reliably without getting bogged down in infrastructure complexity.

What You'll Do

Your work as a Senior Software engineer - DevEx will shape how Catawiki teams deliver value to customers, fostering speed, reliability, and security in everything they build.

• Build a Self-Service Developer Platform: Design and maintain self-service platforms that abstract complexity, empowering teams with the tools they need to deploy, monitor, and optimize their applications.
• Orchestrate Cloud-Native Infrastructure: Manage our Kubernetes clusters and other cloud resources, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency with FinOps.
• Boost Developer Productivity: Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and reusable templates to accelerate development and deployment cycles.
• Drive Reliability and Scalability: Implement best practices for fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and scaling, ensuring applications run smoothly under all conditions.
• Monitor and Improve Platform Operations: Use and enhance observability stack to ensure platform health and resolve incidents proactively.
• Collaborate and Innovate: Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs and build solutions that empower them, while evangelising cloud-native best practices within Catawiki.

You prioritize developer happiness, smooth workflows, and self-service platforms. You believe that empowering developers with great tools and environments leads to better products. You enjoy sharing knowledge and collaborating with others. Next to this you are:

• Platform Builder: You design solutions that enhance developer productivity and reduce friction, applying best practices like DDD, 12-Factor App principles, and modern API design. Skilled in building internal platforms, developer tooling, and paved paths on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS).
• Automation Advocate: Skilled in automating workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Observability Believer: Ensure developers have actionable insights into their applications through seamless integration of observability tooling into the platform.
• Ownership is your middle name: You have a strong sense of ownership for platform performance, proactively addressing issues and striving for long-term scalability and resilience.
• Collaborative Thinker: A team player who works effectively with developers and cross-functional teams to align goals and deliver simple yet impactful solutions.
• Adaptable Learner: Passionate about staying current with DevEx best practices, emerging tools, and industry trends - and eager to experiment, iterate, and improve.

Our Offices and Way of Working

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy a hybrid work model. You will be in the office about 2 days a week to collaborate, with some roles fully remote or fully office-based as specified in the job description.
