The Opportunity
We have partnered with a cutting-edge cleantech company revolutionising the electric vehicle charging space. This innovative software scale-up is building intelligent systems to optimize EV charging by reducing costs, supporting grid stability, and promoting cleaner energy.
We are now hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their agile, cross-functional team. You'll design and develop core backend services that manage communication between EV chargers, energy assets, and grid platforms. This is a hands-on role in a product-centric team where your work has clear real-world impact.
Responsibilities
- Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code in Java/Kotlin, Kafka and Kubernetes
- Architect, build, and maintain backend services in a microservices environment
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and cloud-native deployments
- Support test and deployment of new products and features
- Participate in code reviews
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java or Kotlin
- Experience with cloud-native tools and RESTful APIs
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments
- Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
- Ability to multi-task, organise, and prioritise work
- Experience within EV Charging, Emobility, Energy or Cleantech is a plus!
