Job Description

Senior Software Developer - PHP/Laravel/React.js/AWS

Oscar is proud to be partnering with one of our most trusted clients, a forward-thinking business based in Bristol, who are expanding their engineering team with the addition of a Senior Software Developer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a 22-strong engineering team, where you'll be surrounded by a fantastic mix of seasoned senior developers and ambitious juniors. You'll work in a truly collaborative environment, reporting directly into the CTO, and play a key role in shaping and delivering high-impact projects that directly influence the company's growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and maintaining high-quality, scalable applications using PHP (Laravel) and React.js.

  • Designing and implementing cloud-first solutions with AWS.

  • Mentoring and supporting junior developers, while also collaborating with senior peers to drive best practices.

  • Working closely with the CTO to define technical strategy and contribute to architectural decisions.

  • Taking ownership of projects from concept to deployment in a fast-moving, Agile environment.


What we're looking for:

  • Strong commercial experience with PHP (Laravel).

  • Frontend expertise with React.js and modern JavaScript practices.

  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services.

  • A track record of delivering high-quality, well-structured code.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor juniors.


Working setup:

This role offers a hybrid working model, with just 1 day per week in the Bristol office and the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £65,000 - £75,000 DOE
