About the Role
At Trinamics, we're helping shape the future of green hydrogen. We are looking for a Senior Sensor Development Engineer who will play a key role in the development of sensor technology used in our electrolyzer systems. This is a hands-on technical role in which you will be responsible for the full product development lifecycle - from translating requirements into designs, all the way through validation and release for industrial use.
This position is ideal for someone with deep experience in sensor development for industrial or automotive environments, and who enjoys collaborating with external partners to bring technically complex products to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the end-to-end development of industrial sensors for electrolyzer stacks, from requirements definition to CE/ATEX-certified series release.
- Collaborate closely with external sensor suppliers to ensure design, implementation, and testing meet functional and safety standards.
- Translate functional requirements into hardware and software specifications for embedded sensing systems.
- Validate sensor designs through testing, verification, and certification processes (CE, ATEX, LVD, EMC).
- Work with interdisciplinary teams (software, electronics, systems engineering) to integrate the sensor system into broader control architecture.
- Ensure compliance with industrial communication protocols (e.g., PLC) and measurement methodologies.
- Act as a technical liaison between stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
- Maintain a strong focus on product performance, safety, and industrial readiness.
Who You Are
- You bring 10 years of experience in sensor development within industrial or automotive domains.
- You have expertise in requirement engineering, FMEA, HARA, and functional safety practices.
- Solid background in electronics and embedded software.
- Familiarity with CE marking and industrial directives such as ATEX, LVD, and EMC.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (PLC).
- A problem solver who is proactive, structured, and driven by quality and performance.
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English (spoken and written).
Why Join Trinamics?
- Work on cutting-edge technology that supports a cleaner, more sustainable future.
- Join a collaborative and international team working on high-impact industrial applications.
- Hybrid working environment and long-term career growth potential.
