Senior SAM Analyst

A Global Organisation are seeking an experienced Senior SAM Analyst to help ensure software assets across the organisation are managed effectively, remain compliant, and deliver maximum value. This role plays a key part in software licensing, governance, cost optimisation, and reducing commercial and compliance risk.

• Day Rate: £550-£600pd
• IR35 Status: Inside
• Travel: 3 days a week in Coventry Office
• Duration: 6 months initially

Key responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and support on enterprise software licensing, responding to licensing queries across key vendors.
• Lead software licence compliance activities, manage vendor audits, and ensure software entitlements and contractual obligations are accurately maintained and understood.
• Produce Effective Licence Positions (ELPs), analyse software usage, and identify opportunities to optimise licensing costs, improve return on investment, and reduce risk.
• Maintain and enhance SAM policies, processes, standards, and governance activities while using tools such as Snow Atlas and Snow for Engineering to support accurate software asset management.
• Review software contracts and licensing terms, providing insight into licence utilisation, renewals, and software spend to support informed commercial decisions.
• Bring strong experience in Software Asset Management with a solid understanding of enterprise licensing, audit and compliance practices, cloud licensing (AWS/GCP), and excellent stakeholder management, communication, and prioritisation skills. Relevant SAM certifications and ITIL Foundation are desirable.
