Job Description

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for estimating and controlling costs for our projects, ensuring structures meet legal and quality standards. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved at every stage of a project. You will be based at our office in Rugby and visit various sites within the North of England.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Preparation of internal commercial reports and any other required reports
  • Preparation of valuations/applications for payment with supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
  • Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
  • Management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
  • Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts, including requisitions, monitoring, payments, and final accounts
  • Contract administration, including change management and register maintenance
  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change
  • Utilising the costing system

To be successful, the Senior Quantity Surveyor must have:

  • Experience in shafts and tunnelling
  • Experience with IChemE
  • Commercial awareness with knowledge of standard forms of contract and measurement methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication skills, including presentation, negotiation, and persuasion abilities
  • At least 5 years of QS experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
