The project:The role is within the chief infrastructure office of a semi-state organisation in Ireland, responsible for high voltage station and circuit projects, as well as upgrades and refurbishments of the existing transmission network. The risk manager should have experience in project delivery for large capital projects, preferably in the offshore energy sector, and hold a relevant risk qualification from a recognized industry body.

- Facilitate risk workshops and lead risk reporting and analysis.
- Support offshore teams in risk identification and response development.
- Perform quantitative risk analyses and integrate findings into project controls.
- Coordinate risk training and promote risk management benefits within teams.
- Maintain risk registers and ensure data quality and reporting accuracy.
- Engage with stakeholders to review and update risks at enterprise level.
- Align risk, schedule, and cost controls with project performance.
- Perform other activities as required by the programme controls lead.
- Manage project budgets, identify risks and challenges, and implement mitigations.
- Support the development of your function or business unit for long-term sustainability.
- Uphold the company's values, making a positive impact on people, clients, and the environment.
- Manage design and consultancy teams collaboratively to ensure responsibilities are met.
- Lead project teams and stakeholders to achieve KPIs.
- Network, innovate, and stay informed on best practices, leveraging Mace's resources and knowledge hubs.
- Minimum 10 years in programme and project risk management.
- Chartered or professional membership, NFQ Level 8, relevant leadership training.
- Experience in offshore energy or large capital infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to define, evaluate, and improve risk management processes.
- Excellent communication skills for senior stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of risk standards (ISO31000, COSO, PMI, APM, Orange Book).
- Experience with risk databases and modelling tools (Pentana, ARM, Primavera Risk Safran).
- Practical risk workshop facilitation experience.
- Risk qualification from a recognized industry body (IRM, PMI, APM, IIA) is desirable.
- Experience working across multiple disciplines and project levels.
- Membership in RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent.
- Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Commercial acumen and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Knowledge of sustainability and carbon considerations in projects.
