Senior Project Manager - Defence & Nuclear
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Working Available)
Are you an experienced Project Management professional looking to work on complex, high-impact projects within the defence and nuclear sectors? I am currently working with a well-known reputable organisation that has secured a significant pipeline of work over the next 3-5 years. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to support a technically complex and diverse portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team delivering critical infrastructure projects that play a key role in national defence A background in M&E is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
- Provide client-side project management across the full lifecycle (design through to delivery)
- Manage programme, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder engagement
- Support governance and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior members of the team
- Contribute to bid preparation and business development activities
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure or engineering projects
- Background in mechanical engineering is highly desirable
- Experience working within regulated environments (defence, nuclear, or similar) is advantageous
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects within a complex environment
- Previous experience working with or alongside government bodies is beneficial
- Minimum of 5-6 years' experience in a project management role
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline
- Professional accreditation (APM, PRINCE2, or similar) desirableEligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
- Must be a British National due to the sensitive nature of the work
