Our client is a leading international facilities management and services provider. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead lifecycle and capital works across a portfolio of PPP education facilities. This is a regional role with a Dublin base. You will report to the Contracts Director, with an additional line to the Divisional Director.
This is a technical and commercial role. You will manage circa €3-4 million of lifecycle and capital spend each year. You will own each project from planning and feasibility through to build, handover and final account. Senior project management experience with a contractor or across a property portfolio, or a quantity surveying background, would suit this role well.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and deliver the annual PPP lifecycle and capital projects pipeline, with circa €3-4 million of spend each year.
- Review project requests, analyse feasibility and deliverability, and manage client and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and maintain detailed programme schedules aligned with budget objectives, resource availability and delivery timelines.
- Establish, monitor and control lifecycle and capital budgets, managing risk and identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Lead coordination across surveying, engineering, construction, procurement and regulatory teams, reporting regularly to senior leadership, clients and partners.
- Manage contractors, consultants and suppliers, including procurement, contract negotiation and performance, working closely with the framework vendor.
- Review and sense-check scope, and support scope development to best achieve client goals.
- Control works and contractor programmes to best-practice health and safety standards, on budget and on time.
- Identify and log project risks, share them with the management team and allocate risk owners.
- Provide governance and technical oversight to operational teams across the portfolio.
- Establish and lead the account reconciliation process for completed works.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, codes, environmental standards and safety regulations.
- Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying, building services, building surveying, construction or project management.
- Proven senior project or programme management experience, ideally gained with a contractor or across a property portfolio.
- A quantity surveying background or strong commercial and cost management experience, including budgets, cost control, valuations and final accounts.
- A technical bias, with a sound understanding of building services and building fabric.
- Experience managing projects end to end, from planning and execution through to build and handover.
- Project office experience, with strong governance, reporting and risk management.
- Working knowledge of health and safety law and construction regulations.
- Supply chain, procurement and contractor management experience.
- Ability to stay focused on day-to-day performance while pursuing longer term opportunities.
