About this opportunity

Gleeds is an independent, global construction consultancy specializing in Program and Project Management, Project Controls, and Strategic Advisory services. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Commercial Construction team.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing or supporting the delivery of large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or life sciences construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a solid understanding of construction processes and stakeholder coordination.

Candidates are required to have experience and/or high working knowledge in the following areas:
  • Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Managing projects and/or programs to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures
  • Managing communications with project stakeholders.
  • Meet with project team members on a regular basis to review progress and costs.
  • Responsible for procurement processes, including the preparation of RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for securing design consultants, general contractors, and third-party consultants on behalf of clients.
  • Administering contracts as a contract administrator, employer's agent or project manager.
  • Manage budgets and schedule and work towards resolving any conflicts or issues with the project.
  • Thorough understanding of cost management practices and cost variance reporting.
  • Responsible for schedule development, progress, and delivery milestones.
  • Reporting on risk, delays and potential concerns.
  • Review and approval of change orders.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
  • Support leadership in developing new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Travel to project sites to attend workshops and regular meetings to oversee the progress of the project

About You

Who we're looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  • Senior Project Manager Role - 10+ years of commercial or industrial construction project experience.

  • Project Manager Role - 5+ years of commercial or industrial construction project experience.

  • Must have knowledge of design processes and the production of applicable engineering design and construction documents.

  • Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.

  • Demonstrated success in project management which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.

  • Must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters.

  • Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.

  • Experience in preparing project plans and developing project schedules using Microsoft Project.

  • Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer's Agent and/or Project Manager

  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills

  • High proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint

  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and client offices, primarily in the Southeast region of the USA.

  • Previous consulting experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Project Management, Construction Management or related Engineering Field or equivalent industry experience
