About the Role:

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer to join their team, working within the Data Centre sector. This role requires a strong grasp of electrical design principles, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a focus on delivering high-quality, timely project outcomes.

About You:

  • Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Chartered status is an advantage but not essential)

  • 10+ years' experience in a senior engineering role

  • Strong background in electrical building services design within data centre projects

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering standards including ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, and EN

  • Proficiency in Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and Revit is a distinct advantage

  • Capable of leading projects from concept to completion

  • Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, architects, and project managers

  • Able to manage the design and specification of electrical building systems

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical design process across multiple projects

  • Design and specify electrical services across various sectors and building types

  • Produce detailed schematics and technical documentation

  • Develop and maintain internal electrical design standards

  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff

  • Deliver fully detailed tender packages and monitor on-site quality and installation

  • Provide tender analysis and recommendations

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop project scope

  • Prepare budgets, reports, and attend site inspections

  • Take full ownership of projects with minimal oversight
