Job Description

Job purpose

To coordinate all engineering functions and achieve successful technical and commercial outcomes aligned with the clients' requirements on the project.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the company IPCD and Process Document.
  • Vet all procurement packages technically.
  • Coordinate services for proper integration into the building and liaise with other disciplines.
  • Oversee production of drawings, including plant and sub-contract layouts, to ensure coordination.
  • Support the Project Surveyor on commercial matters.
  • Manage labour and direct material matters.
  • Regularly audit the Productivity Scheme and ensure completion with the Foreman/Site Manager.
  • Issue labour targets ahead of site work activities.
  • Progress the site production report (PC07) regularly with the Foreman/Site Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of labour and materials used in pre-fabricated sections.
  • Manage technical and progress issues related to Plant and Sub-Contractor elements using technical submission processes (PD09).
  • Support the Site Manager on installation matters.
  • Maintain Procurement Schedule (PD07), Technical Submissions (PD09), and Drawing Registers (PD01, PD02, PD03).
  • Conduct regular Sub-Contract Project Reviews with the Site Manager to plan, progress, and monitor installations.
  • Assist the Project Manager in all project matters and act as Project Manager in their absence.
  • Represent the company on internal and external issues.

What we will need from you

  • Mechanical Bias Project Engineer
  • Experience managing a project team to complete within budget and schedule.
  • Programme production and management skills.
  • Ability to interpret specifications.
  • Resolve technical queries during contracts.
  • Manage procurement, labour, and sub-contractors.
  • Assist in managing variation accounts and preparing monthly applications.
  • Construction management and liaising with the supervision team.
  • Site operations including installation and commissioning.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients and professional teams.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Control contract costs and variations.
  • Value engineering to create cost savings.
  • Coordinate M&E Services installations.
  • Ensure health and safety during the contract, including method statements and risk assessments.
  • Compile and present Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Experience with contracts valued at £2m and above.
  • Healthcare experience.

Skills and Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • CSCS card - essential
  • SMSTS course - preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel.
