Senior Press & Communications Manager

The Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1 applies

Hours: 35 hours per week, part-time considered with a minimum of 28 hours

Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 (FTE), subject to experience

Type of contract: Permanent

Line Managed by: Woman's Trust CEO

Location: Office-based with remote working options - minimum of 50% of working hours at Woman's Trust Office, Edgware Road/Paddington, NW1

Options for flexible and hybrid working arrangements (minimum 50% office-based); Mondays and Fridays are core working days.

Job Purpose

We are the leading independent charity providing free and confidential mental healthcare to domestic abuse survivors throughout London. This role is vital in ensuring that the public and key stakeholders understand the impact of our work; that we can generate more support and funding; and that we can influence policy to improve access to mental health support for survivors. You will plan and deliver effective communications to reach, engage, motivate, and resonate with media, clients, fundraisers, and policymakers across various channels.

We seek someone with strong news sense and experience in press and public relations, capable of proactively engaging the public conversation while respecting confidentiality and sensitivities around domestic abuse and mental health. The role involves proactive media relations, social media engagement, content creation for our website, and marketing materials including newsletters. It is highly autonomous, working closely with the Chief Executive, fundraising, counselling, research teams, and regularly engaging with the Board of Trustees to support our mission.

Ideal candidates will have experience with press campaigns, creating social media content aligned with branding, and developing communication strategies with KPI reporting.
