This is a permanent, full-time vacancy that will close in a month at 23:59 BST.

The Vacancy

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Core IT Business Unit as a Senior Power Platform Engineer within our Digital Workplace team on a full-time basis in our Edinburgh Office. There may be a requirement to travel to our Glasgow, London, and Birmingham offices.

We are open to considering candidates on a part-time or full-time basis.

What will your role look like?

As a Senior Power Platform Engineer, you will be a key member of our Digital Workplace Team, helping to shape and deliver enterprise-grade applications within our data-centric Dataverse ecosystem. Your focus will be on model-driven apps in the Dynamics 365 framework, collaborating closely with colleagues across Core IT and the wider firm to evolve our client lifecycle and productivity tools.

You will lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and AI Builder. You will also provide technical leadership and mentoring to colleagues, supporting innovation and operational excellence.

Key tasks include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Power Platform solutions, including model-driven and Canvas Apps, Power Automate Flows, Custom Pages, and Power Pages.
  • Supporting and contributing to Communities of Practice for Power Platform and Copilot.
  • Shaping governance standards and best practices, including citizen development and environment management.
  • Integrating Microsoft Dataverse with other data sources and maintaining a strong understanding of the Dynamics 365 data model.
  • Applying Application Lifecycle Management practices using Azure DevOps and Pipelines.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop reporting solutions using Power BI and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Contributing to strategic roadmaps and planning for Microsoft platform updates.
  • Providing technical guidance and support across Core IT and the wider firm.
  • Ensuring security and regulatory compliance across all solutions.

Qualifications and skills for success:

  • A proactive, analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively in Agile, cross-functional teams.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and industry trends.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues and leading by example.
  • A pragmatic, security-conscious approach to supporting complex environments.
  • Confidence in adopting new technologies and advocating for change.
  • Technical expertise in Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, and Power Pages.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PCF, Microsoft Graph, REST APIs, and Custom Connectors.
  • Ideally, experience with Copilot Studio and AI agent configuration.
  • Strong documentation skills and a user-centred design mindset.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft PL-400 or PL-600 (preferred).
