In a nutshell
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Planning Manager to join our team within Vistry Southern, based out of our Basingstoke Office. As our Senior Planning Manager, you will support planning input across the Business Unit required to promote and deliver the Company's development sites across the south.
You will report to the Head of Planning and lead on the preparation, submission, and negotiation of all types of planning applications, monitor and evidence S106 obligations and condition trackers to ensure compliance, support house sales, assist in identifying and promoting new development opportunities, and provide advice to the Business Unit as required. The role involves working across a variety of existing and new developments, collaborating closely with LPAs and partners.

What we expect from you
- Alignment with company values: Integrity, Caring, and Quality
- BA/BSc (Hons) in Planning or related studies; postgrad Diploma in Planning Studies preferred
- Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (preferred)
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in consultancy or development, demonstrating site appraisal, negotiation, communication skills, and knowledge of planning/legal processes
- Experience with housebuilders is advantageous
Key responsibilities
- Preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications (Full/Reserved Matters, discharge of conditions, amendments)
- Monitoring and evidencing S106 obligations and planning condition compliance
- Liaising with external organizations, attending consultations and stakeholder events
- Providing planning advice on current sites and potential acquisitions
- Working closely with LPAs and partners throughout project stages
- Advising on national planning policy and legislation
- Monitoring government policies and guidance
- Mentoring colleagues and trainees on planning matters
- Ensuring professional development to meet MRTPI standards
- Undertaking additional duties as needed
- Upholding health and safety commitments and attending relevant training
- Facilitating smooth site starts post-permission grant
