Senior Town Planner - Leeds City Centre or Sheffield City Centre

Location: Leeds or Sheffield (City Centre) Hybrid working available

Salary: Highly competitive, dependent on experience

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Town Planner to join a respected and growing planning consultancy with offices based in Leeds and Sheffield City Centre. This is a fantastic chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects - from urban regeneration and mixed use developments to strategic residential and commercial schemes - while taking real ownership of your work in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

You'll be joining a consultancy known for its creative approach to planning and its ability to deliver successful outcomes for clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and contribute to a wide range of planning applications, appeals, and development appraisals.
  • Provide expert planning advice and lead client communications on a variety of schemes.
  • Undertake site appraisals, research, and analysis to inform development strategies.
  • Prepare high quality planning statements, design and access statements, and committee reports.
  • Engage with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and multi disciplinary teams to drive successful project delivery.
  • Mentor junior planners and support the continued growth of the planning team.
About You
  • Around 3 4 years' post qualification experience in town planning, ideally within consultancy or a local authority setting.
  • Ideally MRTPI Chartered (or actively working towards chartership within the next 12 months).
  • Strong working knowledge of UK planning policy, legislation, and the development management process.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
  • A proactive and commercially minded planner who enjoys managing projects and building strong client relationships.
