Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Planner or Planning Manager with experience in major civil engineering projects within the rail, highways, or airports sectors for an initial 12-month contract in Stansted.

This role is based on an infrastructure upgrade programme utilizing the NEC form of contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scope, including developing PBS, WBS, SOW, and BOE.
  • Generate, maintain, and update project schedules in accordance with the planning cycle.
  • Identify schedule impact issues and proactively seek solutions within the project baseline constraints.
  • Coordinate live progress update sessions to gather accurate project status information.
  • Produce monthly management reports on milestones, critical path analysis, and resource demand & availability.
  • Perform schedule variance analysis and report deviations, issuing exception reports as needed.
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques where appropriate.
Job Requirements:
  • Understanding of project management within a complex environment, using an Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, especially Primavera P6.
  • Willingness to learn or familiarity with operating within an EVM environment.
  • Ability to produce accurate work within monthly reporting cycles, prioritizing deadlines using initiative.
  • Contractor experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and relationship-building ability.
